Accessing Emergency Funding During COVID-19

Updated: May 19

"The CARES Act was passed by Congress and signed into law to provide economic relief from COVID-19. It authorized the U.S. Department of Education to provide funding for universities and colleges to award in the form of emergency financial aid grants to eligible students."

While some students may not qualify for the federal stimulus dollars, we encourage all students facing financial difficulties due to the pandemic to submit an application through their college or university to see if they qualify for other types of grant funding such as the CARES Act. Grants range from a few hundred dollars to several thousand, depending on the applicant’s circumstances.

Check with your higher education institution on how to access funding from the CARES Act as soon as possible as the deadline for most institutions is coming up soon. Want to know how much stimulus your college will receive? Click HERE to find out.
